Preparing for Camp

Olympia Gymnastics Camp is a fully active camp.  The campers are constantly on the go!  Which is GREAT to keep kids active!  However, be mindful that the kids may come home pretty exhausted.  They may be grouchy & their muscles sore.  This is expected when doing such a physical sport for 4 to 8 hours.  Your kids may be grumpy in the morning as well because they're bodies may need more sleep and nutritious food to recover from the camp days.  Please be patient with your child the first few days of camp.  Maybe an earlier bedtime or allowing them to sleep in if your schedule allows will help.

DROP OFF

Drop off using the circle drive by pulling up to the right. Car Tag will be given on the first day of camp.  This is what will be needed to pick up campers.

PLEASE DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE TO DROP OFF. THIS HELPS WITH TRAFFIC CONTROL & SAFETY

FULL DAY & MORNING Campers DROP OFF opens at 7:55am

AFTERNOON Campers DROP OFF opens at 12pm

Staff will help your child out of the car & bring them into the gym.

DURING CAMP

Camp will be divided by age during games & open gym time for safety as well as instructional gymnastics time & competitions.

For Safety Reasons: Viewing Area Will Be Closed & entry into the gym will be locked.  Doors inside the gym allow for exit only.  Entry into the gym is locked.

Drop off will be done at the viewing area doors.  PLEASE DO NOT PARK & GET OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE

If your child has a bathroom accident, we will do our best to assist them however we are limited to what we can do as we are not a licensed day care facility.  We understand all kids have accidents so if possible, we give them clean clothes.  If accidents occur more than once, we will ask assistance from the parent to help remedy the situation.  Please make note that all campers must be fully potty trained; meaning they are able to go to the restroom by themselves & clean themselves.  If there is a bathroom accident, the camper must be able to clean up themselves as we do not allow staff in the restrooms with campers.  We will do our best to assist them in giving them clean clothes if needed, & assist from outside of the restroom with clothing.  This is a USAG Safe Sport rule that we adhere to.

What happens if my child has a discipline issue at the program?

Our staff are trained and are expected to resolve misbehaviors in a positive manner. Our staff speaks with the child, allows them to take time out to think about the issue, discuss the issue/solution with the child, then let the child return to the activity. In more severe cases, the child will be kept out of the activity and the parent will be asked to pick up the child. Together, parents and Olympia staff will work out a custom-designed behavior modification method depending on the severity of the issue.

In the event the issue persists, the child may be suspended or expelled from the program. Some acts may result in immediate suspension or expulsion, including but not limited to fighting, intentionally harming others, theft.. Our policies do not grant refunds or credits for missed program days due to behavior issues.
